Double Cylinder:
A Deadbolt and Latchset combination where the deadbolt is locked and unlocked by a key on both the interior and exterior of the lockset. **Double Cylinder locks on doors used for exiting a building or a home are a life safety hazard in times of emergency and are not recommended**
Dummy Set:
Dummy Entry sets are used in double door applications. The Dummy handle set is mounted on the inactive door while the single or double cylinder handle set is mounted to the active door. Dummy sets perform no function.
Passage (Hall/Closet):
A door knob/lever set that does not lock. Passage function door knobs/levers are used on closet and hallway doors.
Privacy (Bed/Bath):
A knob/lever set that can lock from the inside with a push button or turn piece to allow privacy.
Single Cylinder:
A Deadbolt and Latchset combination where the deadbolt is locked and unlocked by a key on the exterior and by a turn piece on the interior of the lockset. Single Cylinder locksets are the most common used in residential applications.
