Answer: You will want to measure from the door edge to the center of the hole cut in your door.

Easy replacement for failed original lock

Easy purchase, next-day delivery, and easy installation of the exact replacement part needed to cure the problem. BUT the problem was metal failure and a shattered cam in the original Emtek deadbolt mechanism (3 stars for the original lock).
