Question: If you buy a pair for each side of a door, do they screw together like a regular locking pair for stability?

Answer: Patrick, Schlage dummies do not interconnect. They are individually mounted on each respective side of the door.

Question: does the single dummy only come with one handle. If you need a dummy for both sides of the door, do you buy 1 right and 1 left or both the same?how do you determine right or left?

Answer: Rick, These are sold individually. If you need one interior and one on exterior you would buy one of each hand. To the right of "handing" on the ordering page their is a "?". Please click on that and a pop up will appear showing you how to determine the correct door handing.
