This Schlage F-Series F58PLY Plymouth single cylinder handleset provides the highest level of residential security with a stylish appearance. The inside features a lever/knob of your choice along with a turn piece that activates the deadbolt portion. Specifications
- Applications: Residential single and multi-family entrance doors.
- Exposed trim: Outside trim: Handlesets are solid forged brass; wrought brass trim rings with concealed security inserts. Inside trim: Levers are zinc-based plated to match finishes indicated.
- Keying: 5-pin tumbler with two keys per lock.
- Door thickness range: 1-3/8" to 1-7/8" thick (34mm-47mm) standard. Thick door kit available.
- Backset: Universal latches and deadbolts fit 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm) backsets.
- Trim rings and security inserts: Furnished with 7/8” wrought brass cylinder trim rings. The cylinder trim rings are reinforced by a tapered die-cast security insert installed under the trim ring for resistance to wrenching or prying the cylinder unit.

Question: I'm curious what happened to the Oil-Rubbed Bronze (ORB) finish on Schlage residential door hardware (locksets in particular). I have a house full of ORB-finish locksets / latches, etc. It has probably been 15-20 years since I purchased and installed all those products. Thanks!

Answer: Jon, That finish has been discontinued and is being phased out with its new substitute being the 716 Aged Bronze finish.

Question: What is the difference between Schlage F58PLY single cylinder handle set Bright Brass item 605 and 505 ?

Answer: Barry, 505 is a lifetime finish. If it ever pits erodes for fades the manufacturer will replace for free.
